Physiotherapy Blood Pressure Programme
IsoFIT-BP – isometric exercise for people with raised blood pressure.
The IsoFIT-BP study is trying to find out whether a particular form of static (isometric) exercise can be given to you by your local GP surgery to reduce your blood pressure. Isometric exercise involves holding a fixed body position for a very short period of time. We are looking for people who have raised blood pressure (a systolic measurement of 140-159mmHg) but are not yet taking medication for it to take part in the study. You must be otherwise fit and well with no other medical conditions. Please call 01227 208556 for more information or pick up an information leaflet at the surgery reception. You can also find out more at IsoFIT-BP Study (canterbury.ac.uk)
